Foremost, I have been on an avid search for more Black woman led true crime podcast and you all have been the most delightful find! The multigenerational perspective is fantastic and Mama is a hoot, reminds me of my own! For those that make claims that these ladies lack the professionalism you seek, go watch 60 Minutes or listen to NPR, this isn’t the one for you. Their perspective is unique to who they are and their personalities are clearly very jovial and quick-witted, if you want misery seek that out but they aren’t your company. The negative reviews are unnecessary when you could simply leave. Keep going ladies, your voices are so valuable to this space!

I know some listeners will not agree, but I find Mama Nikki’s incessant giggling to be a bit much-especially when we’re learning how some unfortunate person was murdered. The high pitched laughter is distracting and the constant off topic interruptions are off putting. She seems like a lovely person, but at times she brings a silliness to the pod that just does not feel appropriate.

I’ve listened on and off over the years with mixed feelings. I love that they cover lesser known cases. Many of them can’t even be found on Reddit so I appreciate the research that goes into this. I also approach it with grace as I always will for black women. I’ve seen reviews calling these ladies ghetto and hood which they are nothing of the sort btw! (Dog whistle)
On the other hand I do think that they can beinsensitive, though it has gotten a little better over time. I would actually hate it if they covered a case for a loved one of mine. I was turned off by an episode proving they weren’t educated on DV. Which is sad since it’s such a recurring theme in true crime and contributes to the storytelling and victims perspective. They also scolded a listener who very gently left a review saying they should educate themselves. If u really enjoy hearing lesser known cases it’s worth laboring through imo.

I’ve been listening for some time now. I’m in the car a lot traveling for work and this podcast is a welcome break from music during those times. Keep doing what you are doing. Side note: Have you considered an episode about Anthony Sowell? He was known as the Cleveland Strangler. Truly a despicable man.

I was really into this podcast for a week or so, im new to pods so it was my favorite due to inexperience. I did feel a little iffy when i was listening due to all the jokes and humor around victims and suspects for that matter but i started a couple new pods & it really validated what i was already feeling. The jokes arent normal & not everyone makes them. I understand making the show light hearted but some of the things yall say are just really unnecessary esp momma nikki 😭 shes so cute and her jokes are funny but i dont think on this type of podcast is the place to showcase them. Turn down the humor a bit and be a little more respectful and the show would be 5 stars! Wishing success on yall & hoping yall take the criticism with grace.

I definitely understand personality differences and trying to lighten the load of a dark topic however the giggling and mom’s over talking is very distracting. Although this is a black podcast we are not a monolith so some for the race jokes can be off putting. On a positive note, the story telling (when not interrupted) is top tier.
