I’ve been a listener since day one. I tell ANYONE AND EVERYONE about this podcast. Dax’s vulnerability makes him relatable while his intellect is right up there with any of the “experts” he has on the show. Monica adds a nice feminine touch to a show that could get too bogged down by car talk! The guests are mostly fabulous and if they’re not, Dax will find a way to make their information interesting. I can’t believe some of the stuff I’ve found compelling. I also love some of their other shows like Flightless Bird and Synced. You will NOT regret listening.

I’ve been waiting for a Armchair Anonymous to maybe be able to share this but i’ve waited to long at this point. Dax and monica both changed my life. I was 370 pounds and didn’t know how to get better. Listening to this podcast and listening to other people struggles made me feel like i wasn’t alone. Dax and Monica were there with me every step of the way as i worked to shed the pounds and fix my life. Dax was so open about his struggles, though different from my own i found solace that he was able to change his story i knew i could change mine too. I’m now down to 260 (and still working to get the rest off) i just had to say thank you to Dax and Monica because they saved my life and helped me to
become a better person. I also named my son after Dax, he really made a big impact on me. So thank you Dax and Monica, and if you are thinking of you should listen to this podcast it’s a resounding, YES!

I am a fairly consistent listener (I choose based on who the guest is) and I’m an avid armchair anonymous listener. I’ve sent those podcasts to so many people!! Dax is such an interesting host and he does a great job of getting into the psychology of his guests, which I love.

I felt compelled to write a review after the JVN episode due to all the backlash. THANK YOU for your common sense Dax and for correctly pointing our extremely valid points. What I loved though is that you politely had this conversation. I think JVN emotionally reacted but then the reminder of the conversation went well! Lots of joking and kindness shared. We need to be able to have these conversations and we need to be able to outwardly, politely, disagree with one another. Debate is healthy and that’s what I enjoy about the pod. Thank you for still posting this, it would’ve been easy for you to not post it and I’m proud you guys did despite the backlash you knew would follow.

Onwards and upwards!

Dax AND Monica are great (why so much hate on Monica? I think she’s hilarious). This podcast gets me through boredom, my commute to work, and even bad moods! I started listening from the 2024 backwards and after going through the whole catalog, I can say the show is only getting better. To Dax and Monica (and Wobby): please ignore the haters. Folks can have their opinions. What you do matters and makes a difference.

Your podcast brings a lot of entertainment and insight, and your candid, personal storytelling is one of the things that makes it so engaging. That said, I wanted to offer some feedback about the recent “Crazy Neighbors” episode where you discussed the story of a 70-year-old female neighbor experiencing what could be described as a "mental disturbance" or possibly Alzheimer’s.

While I understand humor is often a way to navigate uncomfortable or complex stories, I felt the giggling tone of this segment might have unintentionally crossed into territory that could be hurtful or dismissive. Mental health struggles and diseases like Alzheimer’s are deeply challenging not only for the individuals experiencing them but also for their families and communities. Referring to this person as “crazy” and laughing about her situation may unintentionally perpetuate stigma against those living with mental illness or cognitive decline.

I know this likely wasn’t your intention. With one of you being 10 years sober and holding a degree in anthropology, your perspectives on human behavior are often nuanced and compassionate. Perhaps this story could have been an opportunity to explore the complexities of mental health, aging, and community care with the same depth you bring to other topics.

This feedback comes from a place of respect and appreciation for your work. I believe your platform has the power to not only entertain but also foster empathy and understanding.

I love love love David Farrier. I think he is a great storyteller. But the constant gasping at often inappropriate times from Monica Padman, the screams of “David, no!” from her, and the increasingly constant diversions from the topic at hand (case in point: the first five minutes of the episode on alligators was about previous, non-related episodes, Ben Affleck and Dunkin’ Donuts, and Monica’s assertion that laundromats aren’t a thing in American culture) has made this once-enjoyed podcast a chore to sit through. Why have a topic if a good portion of the time is spent not on the topic?
